This week a delegation of women from Bethnal Green North visited the display of models of the Borough at the head office of the Canary Wharf group. The visit which was co-ordinated by Councillor Azizur Rahman Khan was a great success and the women were interested to see the photographs and images of Docklands and London, and to learn more about plans for the future of Tower Hamlets.
One of the women visitors said after the visit: "We are grateful to the Canary Wharf Group for inviting us. It has made us all think about the place of our neighbourhood in the wider landscape of London. We especially enjoyed the view and the models of the transport system across London".
Councillor Khan commented "As a local Councillor you always focus on the needs of your ward. But today, looking at the view of London, I can see the strategic importance of Canary Wharf and Tower Hamlets which provides a me with a new perspective on the role of a local Councillor in this Borough and City."
